A Little bit chalky.......

For Inky Fingers this week we're using VersaMagic inkpads and Cardio stamps. I don't do much with chalk inkpads but now I've had a go, I'm a bit hooked - you can create such beautiful, softly blended backgrounds.
Here's what we'll be making if you fancy coming along:

Lots of Infusions and lots of alcohol inks and just lots!

I'm running a class for someone's birthday this Saturday and we're going to try out Infusions. Every time I play with these they just create wonderful backgrounds:

Spritzing:

Stamping:

Stencilling:

On Yupo:

And then alcohol inks on Yupo:

You can see I've had a lot of fun!

It's snowing at PaperArtsy...

Over on the PA blog I've got a JOFY snowman card using alcohol inks and Yupo paper.
Here's a sneak peek:

These backgrounds are incredibly easy to make and very addictive - also exciting as you're never too sure what's going to happen.

Old book design....

I've been having a little play with some old books for my next Inky Fingers Class at The Craft Barn and this is what I came up with: the first is a tree with cover as a background:

and the second is a freestanding angel:

I've never tried this before but the folding is very easy and surprisingly quick.
I thought I'd post it here as the group weren't at all sure about this project (don't think they could visualize what I was on about!) Obviously the colours are all variable - it'd be nice to make a sort of woodland tree as well - getting carried away now!

If you fancy joining us and having a go follow the link above.

21 today......................................

No, not me, but my youngest daughter. Well actually it's next week, but I've already done the card and present opening as she's doing an Erasmus year in Berlin and we went over to see her at the weekend.
We had a great time and walked our socks off!
Here's the card I made for her:

Note the pineapple charm - she loves pineapples!

Ally Pally here I come...

I'm up at Ally Pally tomorrow demoing for That's Crafty. I'm working with the Pebeo Iridescent paints and also the Metallics (gorgeous colours). There are also some new bases that I'll be using and a new product for doing quick transfers, the operative word being 'quick'. And, very exciting, I'll be using That's Crafty's new stamps.

Here are some sneak peeks:

I'm also doing a Make n Take using one of the new acrylic Uprights:

There are fantastic demos and Makes n Takes going on all day on both days, so if you can't bear to see all my mess, come and watch someone else - Lauren Hatwell, Carol Fox, Alison Hall - you've got plenty to choose from!

We're all on Stand B10.

JOFY, JOFY, JOFY...

I've had a lovely time creating a card and acrylic tag book for the Inky Fingers group on Wednesday 21 September at The Craft Barn. These stamps - JOFY 45 and 46 - are just so lovely to work with and colour:

The idea is that the acrylic pages can stand alone or overlay the page behind:

I'll show you some more later in the week.
