Clean and Simple? Me?

The new challenge over on the Crafty Individuals blog is up and it's Clean and Simple designs.
Now anyone who knows me will realize that clean and simple is not my style, but I rose to the challenge and, I have to say, rather enjoyed it!

Upcycling with PaperArtsy

I've got a post over on the PaperArtsy blog tonight featuring a piece of jewellry made from an old belt buckle:

While I had this stamp set out, I also made a brooch from shrink plastic:

 I die cut the shrink and stamped it with StazOn and then put it in the oven to do its stuff - I much prefer using the oven as it doesn't blow away or stick to itself. The quote is from Hot Pick 1604:

Then I flipped it over and coloured the reverse side with alcohol ink pens:

Then I varnished it and cut a piece of white card for the back:

I layered it onto felt and embellished with beads:

There we go - very easy to make!

Very messy...

Had a lovely time at Stamperama with That's Crafty and made a lovely mess.

In fact I was messy even before the show opened as I was a bit enthusiastic squeezing the Pebeo black gesso (to die for!) and managed to get it all up my arms. Went to clean up but the doors had opened, everyone was streaming in so had to hurry back to my post! You'll be pleased to know that it's all now washed off - oh no, wait a mo, still a bit going up my arm with some dabs of the Pebeo iridescent paint (also to die for!) red, green and blue!

Here are a few more of the samples I made:

That first one would probably be a good one to hang on my art room door!

Stamperama here I come....

Yes, the show's on Sunday and I've been busy prepping - I'm on the That's Crafty stand, so come along and say hello!

Very excited....

....to be demoing for That's Crafty at the Stamperama show on Sunday 21 August.
Am going to be using Pebeo iridescent paints and Katzelkraft stamps and trying them out on all the That's Crafty surfaces with their Dinky stencils.
Here's a sneak peak of a very quick sample I made:

I've never been to Stamperama so am looking forward to it.

I promised I'd show you the rest of the chalkboard when I'd finished, so here it is:

You coat the board with a special sealant so that you can write over it in chalk - I would have written on it for you but, believe it or not, I could't find my chalk!!!

Don't forget, you can come along and make your own board at The Craft Barn class on Saturday 20 August.

Wood Grain Texture...
