Well, I'm back from the Trade show at the NEC where I was helping on the Elusive Images stand. The team are fantastic to work with and always make me feel very welcome, so thankyou Glenda, Adrian, Lynn, Judith, Emma, Carrie and Annette! We were nicknamed the GLOGGS - you'll have to work out what it stands for as in all the excitement, I've forgotten! I know we had a good laugh about it.
I got to help Glenda teach her 3 workshops on the Saturday which was great fun.I've never really done much workshop teaching so it was great for me to see an expert at work. Glenda assures me I'd do okay if I was let loose on an unsuspecting public! I met loads of new people, some of whose business names I recognised and also people I'd met from last year. Hi everyone!
Meanwhile the others put up the stand which looked fantastic with all the artwork and new products. After that, it was a case of meet and greet and get to talk about all my favourite products for three days! I'd nearly lost my voice by the end of it.
Can you believe it, I didn't take a single photo - too busy telling other people they couldn't take photos!! I won't tell you who I said that to (in the nicest possible way, of course) but let's just say they were a very well known person in the industry and Glenda had to step in quickly! I did think they looked rather familiar!! Me and my big feet! What with that and the trials and tribulations of the zapper, I'm surprised they put up with me! Flowers galore!
Here are two cards using the flowers from the Elusive Images Butterfly Collage plates.
The first card uses Artylicious papers to make the flower and the background is made using Glimmer Mists and stamped with the Corner Flourish:
In the centre of the flower I've just blobbed some clear glue and then piled on beads:
This next card uses the K&Co Classic Boxed Papers to make up the background and the flower. I've stamped the edge of one of the collage stamps to get the diamond pattern:
The flower centre uses an old button with some wired beads:
Don't forget to watch the show tomorrow!

Butterfly Collage
Glenda's new show on Create and Craft is on Tuesday 10th Feb. at 1pm. This show launches the Butterfly Collage stamp sheets. You can get a sneak peek of the stamps from the card below:
They're wonderful stamps to use. I've combined them here with some Artylicious papers and then I've used Derwent Inktense pencils to colour in the main image. I can see why they're called 'inktense'! The colours are really rich. When I'd finished edging the card with the pencils, I decided the background was too white, so I just wet my finger and rubbed it over the colours to spread them around a bit:
If you go on over to the Elusive Images blog over the weekend, there's going to be some blog candy!

Dragon time!
I meant to put these photos up for Chinese New Year but I'm a bit late! These cards both use the Elusive Images Here Be Dragons plate which is great fun to use:
I've added colour with Prisma coloured pencils which give a really intense colour and the background uses Glimmer Mists.
This next project is a dancing dragon:
which uses coloured pencils and glitter glue. The two end pieces are Stampbord:

Colourful Collage
As Glenda said in her comment, the show is called Glenda's Colourful Collage Stamping and it's first showing is on Feb 10th at 1.00pm on Create and Craft TV.
I can't show you any of the other stamps that are used , but I have found photos of another 2 samples that use the Harlequin Rose plate.
The first is a card on glossy white cardstock:
And the second is an altered glass jar that I got from Ikea: I saw this idea ages ago in a Somerset Studios book called 'Transparent Art'.This particular project was by Cynthia Shaffer - I have to say it was quite fiddly, but it was great fun all the same!

I've gone green!
Well, sort of! Here's another card made with the Harlequin Rose set of stamps from Elusive Images:
This one uses Pastel colours from the Ecoline ink range which I just blobbed onto some watercolour paper for a background. I then stamped over the top and stamped the flower head again and added detail with coloured pencil and a white pen:
I layered it up onto some more of the K and Co Classic boxed set paper. The border stamp really comes into its own here as it makes a fantastic frame and you can even mitre the corners.
I'm not sure what the show's going to be called on C & C yet, but I know Glenda's got some great products going on (among them some more lovely stamps) and she promises it's going to be colourful!

Harlequin Rose
As Glenda has now released a picture of this latest themeplate, I thought I'd post a picture of one of the samples I've been working on:
I've sponged colour on from various inkpads, added a strip of patterned paper down the side (from the fantastic K&Co Classic Boxed set)and stamped the border over this. Then I cut away around the diamond shapes and put the exact same image on the inside of the card, just colouring the rose slightly differently. I added some different paper down the side and used one of the fabulous quotes.
When opening it looks like this:
I can see I'm going to use this plate a lot, not just for the fabulous collages, but I also love those swirly fonts and that long border stamp, which reminds me of wrought iron fencing. It doesn't matter if you use the whole design or just part of it, it always seems to work!
I have to say you're lucky to see any photos at all as I'd parcelled the samples up all ready to go in tomorrow's post when I realised I'd forgotten to take any pics! The air turned a decided shade of blue - you'd understand if you could see how I do my parcels - I keep Wilkos in brown parcel tape! Also I never have a box to fit, so make them from various ones put together and if you try to undo them they just fall apart! However I braved it and managed to salvage the box without too much bad language!
