As soon as I saw the new Lynne Perrella stamps from PaperArtsy I knew I wouldn't be able to resist them. This uses set 014.
Here I've made a card colouring in with alcohol ink markers - not used these before and found them great fun and very addictive!

Vintage Circus

I've got my class on Saturday up at the Craft Barn where we're making a circus train out of a Tando wide stage kit. The Oxford Impression stamps are just ideal for this. Here are a couple of the carriages close up:

And then here's the whole train:

It uses Faber-Castell oil pastels and Dylusions sprays.

TAP bag

Yes, I am still here! I've just been away for a week to Holland and then we've had computer problems.
Anyway, thought I'd show you the first pic of the bag I'm decorating with the TAP paper:

This is for my class at the Craft Barn on Sunday 16 September. We're going to decorate a cotton bag using Crafty Individuals stamps and TAP, which is all wonderful stuff! At the mo, this is a work in progress, (ie. not finished!!!)

TAP try outs!

Jean from Crafty Individuals was demoing this stuff (Transfer Artist Paper) at the Craft Barn Extravaganza and she said how great it was, and I have to agree!
I got some from the Craft Barn this last weekend and have been experimenting with different colouring media to see what happens. The stamps are from Crafty Individuals.
In this first pic I've stamped straight onto the TAP and then coloured in:

The little white patches are where I've coloured too hard and taken away a little bit of the surface.

This second lot are where I've coloured onto the TAP and  then stamped over the top:

If I'd thought logically, I'd have realised that the paint one at the end wouldn't work as I'd used the opaque colours. Must try it with some of the PaperArtsy Fresco translucent colours.

These birds are another try out (forgot to label them so can't remember exactly what I used!)

This last has to be my favourite. I've put the Fresco paint on the calico, stamped the bird onto TAP and coloured with Distress Markers. This way, the transfer goes over the paint beautifully and you get another layer of colour:

Why have I been trying all this out you might ask? Well, I've got an all day class coming up at the Craft Barn where we're going to decorate a cotton bag using Tap, Crafty Individuals stamps and whatever else I fancy! It's on September 16th, a Sunday this time, and I can't wait - this stuff is really addictive!

Fantasy Prisme

Well, I took my Pebeo Fantasy Prisme class up at the Craft Barn yesterday and it was great fun.
Didn't start off too well though as I got all the way up there only to find I'd left my bag with money, phone. camera, lunch and general junk sitting on the chair at home. Thank goodness I'd got all the class stuff!
As it was I had to borrow some money for lunch - thanks Kati - and Liz very kindly took photos of all the artwork for me.
There were 10 ladies in the class and we had a good time trying out various colours of this paint and then oohing and aahing over the effects - if you haven't tried it, you should have a go. Every time there was something different, even if exactly the same colours were used.
We tried out dropping and blobbing paint onto mount board to see the different effects:

 We also tried it out on black card - really effective:

Then we started on the sort of book project. I'd brought a whole load of Crafty Individuals stamps with me, not just the ones I used, and everyone chose their own colour palette. They made some really good stuff:

Then it was onto the Tando square jewellery hangings - there wasn't time to finish these as you have to allow for drying time, but people added different inclusions - beadazzles, accent beads, glass beads etc.   And lastly they had two pendants to fill with paint.

As you can see, we did a lot!

So, just to say 'thank you' to all of you at the class for making it so enjoyable, to Liz for taking these pics for me and to Gabby for the cake which we all enjoyed!

A little bit of this...

And a little bit of that!
I haven't blogged in the last couple of weeks as I've been madly trying to get my Masterclass article done for Craft Stamper. It's on acetate and turned out to be really fun.
I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but I'll just say, don't throw away all that lovely, sturdy plastic packaging you get with stamps and embossing folders etc. Mind you, you'll have to keep it until November's issue as that when the article comes out!
However, as with all projects, I had lots of bits left over and so made a card with one piece of it:

 I've used some Papermania doodle frame stamps that I've had for ages (and knew would come in handy!) and a doodly flower stamp as well. The papers are from the Prima Doodle Deux collection which you can get from the Craft Barn.
