3 cards, 1 stamp…

I thought I’d use one stamp this week to make three different looking cards that you could use for various occasions. I’ve coloured one in brights, one in pastels and one monochrome. I’ve used watercolour pens, but you could use anything – inks, coloured pencils etc. They’re all layered up onto another piece of card and then are going on a square white card.. By changing the embellishments, you can get a very different look for each card.

Checkmate…

 

It’s a card this week using some Katzelkraft stamps and a Gel Press background in lovely bright colours. The chess pieces on this stamp are beautifully drawn and I’ve teamed them up with a chequerboard stencil. You could make this in any colours – I’ve gone for a bit of a bright mixture but you can always tone it down or make it more masculine.

Travels in the Round

 I was looking through my stash the other day and found this 13Arts transparency that I’d forgotten I had. I love working with transparencies (printed acetates) as you can create so many layers. I started by working out which bit of the 12x12 sheet I wanted and then cut it to fit my round which had already been sprayed with some Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Burst. 

Then I oversprayed Flat Matte Bluebell through a cog stencil. That’s 2 layers done. 

Then I added the acetate and used Posca pens to draw on some doodles using the design as a guide. The text is done with black texture paste.

Finally I painted some cogs and added silver foiling to give it a bit of oomph!

Layer upon layer upon layer…

 This panel is built up in layers starting with a background from the Stamperia Songs of the Sea set and adding die cuts, cut outs and lots of embellishments. I added stencilling to the background plus drew on extra crackle and then got to work with the embellishments. Thinking of putting this in a journal, so at some point will show you the other side of the double page spread.

I've tucked the corner of the mermaid image under the cogs - first interlinking layer.

Stencil on some seaweed with Distress Oxide inkpad.

Gilded Oval

                                                                                              

If you saw the shows yesterday you’ll have seen Sam demoing the gilding foil and flakes so I thought I’d incorporate them into my project today. I’ve taken one of the filigree ovals and gilded it with both silver and gold flakes – I don’t usually mix my metallics but it seemed to work here. Then I’ve used some of the papers and pictures from the Stamperia Sir vagabond Fantasy collection to fill the frame.

Brocante Mannequin

I’ve been playing dress up this week with this mannequin that I cut out of one of the 12x12 Stamperia Brocante papers. I’ve added a pleated skirt made from a strip of the same paper, some lace, some cut out spoons, some cut out flowers plus ribbon and gems. You can really go to town. It’s all layered up on a size 10 tag.

A little bit of Chocolate!

 I had to do something chocolatey for Easter so have made a tag book with the Stamperia papers. Once you’ve made the basic booklet and added background papers, it’s very easy to do – you can pretty much layer up whichever pics you like. I’ve added a bit of stencilling as well with the Prima Redesign Chalk Paste – not used this before but I really liked it.
