Bright pink and orange...

We made a 3D book yesterday at Inky Fingers at The Craft Barn. using PaperArtsy Hot Picks stamps, and, in my case, bright, bright colours!

This was the last Inky Fingers Club session of the year so I'd like to say a big thank you to all those who've been this year - I've really enjoyed it and I hope you have too. (And a big thank you for all your good wishes and my lovely plant arrangement which is sitting in my hearth and is being well watered in!)

The good news is, we are carrying on next year and new members are always welcome. You don't have to come to every session - you can pick and choose the projects you like. You get a chance to try out new products, new techniques and revisit old favourites with a new twist. Above all, it's messy and it's fun!
Sandy will be sending out details of the new venue and dates very shortly.

Old Bear...

This stamp from Crafty Individuals CI-440 reminds me of my Mum's old teddy bear (now 83 years old) which I've still got sitting on the shelf!

Ladies let loose with a brayer!

We had a great time at the Inky Fingers Club yesterday inking and rolling and making all sorts of cards. These are the rest of what we were doing:

These first two use Woodware stamp sets and the last two use a Cover a Card stamp, Birds on Trees by Impression Obsession:

Don't forget that although the bricks and mortar shop has closed, The Craft Barn is still an online shop and has lots of lovely goodies!

Lynne Perrella and a brayer....

What more could you ask for? Some of my favourite stamps and favourite techniques.

I'm teaching a class for the Craft Barn next week (well The Inky Fingers Club) and they wanted to try out things with brayers, so here we go:

I'll show you some more samples, using completely different stamps, later in the week.

A very bright Christnas......

A couple of weeks ago I was demoing at The Craft Barn using some Kaisercraft stencils, Grunge Paste and some of the latest Distress inkpads.
I decided on some non traditional colours and came up with these:

I've added Stampendous Frantage embossing enamels straight onto the Grunge Paste and it gives a wonderful textured finish.

I've taken the big 'hello' from another Alice Palace stamp, CI-371 and added some of the floral background to it.

PaperArtsy: Spooktacular Tags

Here we are  using the new Hallowe'en stamps HPHW05EZ from PaperArtsy and Brushos. I've made a tag book with flappy bits, just because I could!

I only get to do skulls and bones once a year, so was really pleased to get a chance to use these stamps, which are just brilliant.
I've used the Brushos to stamp with this time and if you want the Step by Step, hop on over to the PaperArtsy blog as I'm just going to show close ups here:

Bagsy, I'm it!

I've got a few pics to show you of a bag I'm doing at a workshop at That's Crafty in a couple of weeks (Saturday 26 September).
Here's the whole bag:

We're going to use PaperArtsy Lin Brown stamps, TAP paper and DecoArt So Soft paints:

And here's the reverse:

This is a great way to try out TAP paper and have a go at working on fabric, so if you'd like to come along, just follow this link.

New, new, new....!

PaperArtsy has done it again!

Deadly Danger Canvas using HPHW05EZ by Helen Chilton

I love collage stamps, especially ones as detailed as these, and especially skulls and Hallowe'eny things! I've pulled out bits of text and stamped it onto copper to go round the frame.

Poison Frame using HPHW05EZ by Helen Chilton

Here I've used a frame that I already had and just painted it and Treasure Golded it (is that a word?) to fit the colour theme. I had great fun making tiny images on shrink plastic to add as embellishments. I shrunk them all in the oven then I don't have to watch them all curling and sticking (far less stressful!)

Oh Christmas Tree using HPXM08EZ and HPXM09EZ by Helen Chilton

I love all the text in these sets, the fact it's all in different fonts and that you can build them up to create Christmas shapes, in this case a tree and in the next, baubles. I added chain and brads and shell beads to add texture and decoration.

Christmas Baubles using HPXM09EZ by Helen Chilton

This time instead of stamping in black, I've embossed in white on the darker background and used a black pen to bring out the details.

Christmas ATCs using HPXM08EZ and HPXM09EZ by Helen Chilton

The curlicue Christmas Tree in HPXM08EZ is fantastic for repeat stamping to make backgrounds. I like the fact that it's so  easy to ink up just one word from a stamp as in the 'Christmas' border. The detail on the Father Christmas collage is amazing - you can even see the candles on the tree. I added a tiny reindeer from one of the other stamps.

Wonderful stamps - I've really enjoyed being able to have a play with them. Many thanks Leandra and Mark and all at PaperArtsy..
