Scraps

This card is made from leftovers from other projects. Yes, you guessed it, the background was one of the last pulls from the alcohol ink session, hence lots of white paint. The flowers – some of my favourites of Melina’s – were meant for something else and the scallop border, using texture paste, is cut out from one of Melina’s frame stencils. To bring it all together, I’ve coloured the scallops with watercolour pencils and added touches of the same to the background. The foiling just finishes it off perfectly.

Floral birthday

This card uses one of the alcohol ink Gel Press backgrounds again – I’m trying to remember how I made it! After the first print through the stencil was pulled, I spritzed the stencil itself with blending fluid/rubbing alcohol and turned it over and stamped with it then spritzed again and stamped again – so this is the second impression which is why it’s paler. I then replaced the stencil and lightly coloured through some of it with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina inkpad.

I didn’t want to cover too much of the background so just added a gold foiled flower by Art by Marlene.

Gorgeous greens

This is the one of shelf tags I made for the launch last week using one of Melina’s fabulous new leaf masks which are lovely and big. I actually crackled the background (which didn’t work brilliantly as I am notoriously bad with crackle) but the funny thing was it crackled the texture paste that I used for the leaves on top as well - a happy accident! I added extra colour to my leaves using Distress Watercolor pencils and added shading to give them dimension. The bottles were in my stash. First of all I painted them then rolled them over some pattern stamps then rubbed them back a bit to give a shabby feel.

Hope you've enjoyed this project. These tags are so much fun to work with.
