It's Spring!

Well, I can dream!
Here I've made a frame and picture in vivid green and yellow to hurry Spring along!

The stamps are by Crafty Individuals: Birdcage and Butterflies CI-301, Hardware Elements CI-304, Script CI-017 and Swirly Background CI-237.
The canvas board frame (I've turned it around) and the chipboard leaves are from the 'Must Haves' section!

Thanks for looking!

Helen

Hi Helen, had to pop over when I saw this in my reader.
It's really gorgeous and certainly brings the Spring.
The weather is at least a bit warmer this afternoon so hope you're managing to get some sunshine as I did earlier.
Felicity x
PS: Hope you're well as it's ages since I last saw you.

Beautiful colours Helen. The sun has been shining here today, but it is still so cold! This is a lovely piece, with some fabulous details. Judith xx

Great project Helen - brilliant colours as always from you. Love the little chipboard leaves too - spring is lingering just around - hope you enjoyed the sunshine we have had in the south yesterday and it looks like today. Elaine

Gorgeous frame! Your article in Craft Stamper is also fabulous - congratulations. However, I've been having trouble with colouring the calico - the inks look vibrant to start with but when dry they fade to almost nothing - what am I doing wrong? Not enough Gesso? Do you gesso both sides? Ink ontop of the gesso or on the other side? Hope you can help as I'd love to make some little birds for Easter presents. Thanks, Helen x

Hi Stamping Helen
I inked over the top of the gessoed side as this will stop it soaking in so much. Don't spritz with too much water. When you iron, it'll fade a bit, but then I just went through the process again and added more ink.
Hope this helps!
Helen
