Alcohol inks and Gel Press

 

I’ve seen a lot of this about lately so thought I’d give it a go. I’ve kept it fairly simple as a process. Lay the stencil (this is a new one from Melina coming out next week) on the Gel Press, sprinkle the inks over the top and then use a brayer to roll them out. 

I then removed the stencil and brayered a light layer of white paint over the top and pulled the print.

Look at those colours! You'll get a different result each time.

 Not wanting to waste the inks I then spritzed the stencil with blending fluid and pulled another print.

I’ve made mine into some ATCs and stencilled on a bit of gold Glaze. Add some lightbulbs from the acetate I used a couple of weeks ago to finish off.

My card this week uses some scraps from the Stamperia Sir Vagabond in Fantasy World Collection. I’ve been using it for another project (which you’ll see soon) so thought I’d layer up some papers and images to make something for Fathers’ Day. I like creating depth with these papers. I’ve finished it off with a little foiling.

3 cards, 1 stamp…

I thought I’d use one stamp this week to make three different looking cards that you could use for various occasions. I’ve coloured one in brights, one in pastels and one monochrome. I’ve used watercolour pens, but you could use anything – inks, coloured pencils etc. They’re all layered up onto another piece of card and then are going on a square white card.. By changing the embellishments, you can get a very different look for each card.
